Main features

  • ISO Vg 68 Mineral-Oil
  • Low Vapor Pressure
  • Carries NSF H1 Certification

Product Description

MOLYKOTE® L-1668FM Synthetic Blend Vacuum Pump Oil is an ISO VG 68 lubricant formulated specifically for oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps. Its synthetic-blend base combines mineral oil and polyalphaolefin technology with rust-, oxidation-, and corrosion-inhibiting additives. The amber oil is designed to maintain suitable viscosity and lubricating-film thickness at normal operating temperatures while supporting demanding service involving moisture, water, chemicals, or corrosive environments. It is NSF H1 certified for incidental food-contact applications and is used in industries including food packaging, medical sterilization, chemical manufacturing, and battery production.

Key features

  • Rotary-vane pump formulation: Developed specifically for oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps.
  • MO/PAO synthetic blend: Combines mineral oil and polyalphaolefin base-oil technologies.
  • Protective additive system: Contains rust-, oxidation-, and corrosion-inhibiting additives.
  • Harsh-environment performance: Designed for corrosive and high-moisture operating conditions.
  • Low vapor pressure: Supports vacuum-pump operation where lubricant volatility is important.
  • Food-processing suitability: NSF H1 certified for incidental food-contact applications.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps
  • Food-packaging vacuum systems
  • Medical-sterilization equipment
  • Chemical-manufacturing vacuum pumps
  • Battery-production vacuum equipment
  • Demanding service involving moisture, water, chemicals, or corrosive conditions

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
