MOLYKOTE HP-870

Main features

  • Fully Fluorinated Formulation
  • -20 to 250 deg C Service Range
  • Chemical-Resistant PFPE/PTFE Grease

Product Description

MOLYKOTE® HP-870 Grease is a white, fully fluorinated lubricating grease based on linear perfluoropolyether oil with a PTFE thickener and PTFE solid lubricants. The NLGI Grade 2 formulation combines high-temperature stability, chemical and solvent resistance, corrosion protection, and low base-oil vapor pressure. It is designed for demanding environments including high vacuum, corrosive service, liquefied-natural-gas equipment, cleanrooms, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment where lubricant evaporation can be problematic. Its 350 cSt base-oil viscosity and service-temperature range from −20°C to 250°C support long-term lubrication of bearings, valves, seals, electrical components, plastics, rubbers, and elastomers.

Key features

  • Fully fluorinated formulation: Uses linear PFPE base oil with a PTFE thickener and PTFE solid lubricants.
  • High-temperature capability: Supports service temperatures from −20°C to 250°C.
  • Chemical resistance: Provides resistance to chemicals, solvents, corrosion, and oxidation.
  • Low base-oil vapor pressure: Suitable for high-vacuum and low-volatilization applications.
  • High load-carrying performance: Provides a four-ball weld load greater than 4,900 N under the documented test conditions.
  • Material compatibility: Compatible with most rubber and plastics.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Cleanroom and semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • High-vacuum and low-volatilization lubrication
  • Corrosive, chemical, and solvent-exposed equipment
  • Liquefied-natural-gas service
  • Rolling-element bearings and hot-air-dryer motor axles
  • Valves, packings, seals, O-rings, plastics, rubbers, and elastomers

Chemically resistant grease; NLGI 2
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
