LORD 7550C Urethane Adhesive

Main features

  • Equal-Mix LORD 7550 Curative Component
  • 6,000 to 12,500 cP Viscosity
  • Lexan, ABS, and Primed-Metal Bonding

Product Description

LORD® 7550C Urethane Adhesive Curative is the curative component of the equal-mix LORD 7550 two-component clear urethane adhesive system. When combined 1:1 by volume with LORD 7550A resin, the system bonds Lexan, ABS, polycarbonate, other plastics, and properly prepared and primed metals. The clear-to-yellow liquid curative has a typical viscosity of 6,000 to 12,500 cP at 25°C. The mixed adhesive is self-leveling, has a typical working time of three to five minutes, reaches handling strength in approximately 60 minutes, and cures to full strength in about 72 hours at room temperature.

Key features

  • LORD 7550 curative component: LORD 7550C is mixed 1:1 by volume with LORD 7550A resin.
  • Controlled liquid viscosity: Typical component viscosity is 6,000 to 12,500 cP at 25°C.
  • Clear urethane bonding system: The paired system is documented for plastics and properly prepared and primed metals.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Curative component of the LORD 7550 urethane adhesive system
  • Bonding Lexan, ABS, polycarbonate, and other plastics
  • Bonding properly prepared and primed metals

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
6000 -12,500 mPa.s
Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
