LOCTITE SF7090
Harmonization Code : 3208.20.90 | Paints and varnishes that are dispersed or dissolved in a non aqueous medium
Main features
- Accelerates Cure of Loctite Anaerobic Adhesives
- Solvent-Free Bonding Formulation
- Passive Metals and Inert Materials
Product Description
LOCTITE® SF 7090™ is a reactive monomer-based, solvent-free surface activator designed to accelerate the cure speed of LOCTITE® anaerobic adhesives and sealants. It is particularly effective for use on passive metals, inert surfaces, large bond gaps, and low-temperature applications below 15°C. The activator promotes rapid fixture and cure development while remaining active on treated surfaces for up to one hour after application.
Key Features & Benefits
- Accelerates cure of LOCTITE® anaerobic adhesives and sealants.
- Solvent-free reactive monomer formulation.
- Ideal for passive metals and inert substrates.
- Improves curing across large bond gaps.
- Recommended for low-temperature applications (<15°C).
- Can be applied by spray or brush.
- Remains active on surfaces for up to one hour.
Recommended Applications
- Acceleration of anaerobic threadlockers.
- Acceleration of anaerobic retaining compounds.
- Passive metal assemblies.
- Large bond gap assemblies.
- Low-temperature bonding operations.

Technical Specifications
General Properties
Appearance
Dark blue-green liquid
Appearance at room temperature.
Specific Gravity
1.03
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume.
For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
Physical Properties
Viscosity
10 - 25 mPa.s
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow.
Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as
the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP.
A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs-
compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than
water would.
The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in
order to better suit an application
