LOCTITE E-60NC

Main features

  • Two-Component Adhesive System
  • Low-Viscosity Adhesive Application
  • Non-Corrosive Bonding Formulation

Product Description

LOCTITE® EA E-60NC is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy adhesive and potting compound designed for bonding, potting, and encapsulation of electrical and electronic components. The material cures at room temperature to form a rigid black encapsulant that is non-corrosive to metallic components on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies. Once cured, it provides excellent environmental protection, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation, making it suitable for sensitive electronic applications where corrosion resistance is critical.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Two-component epoxy system for bonding, potting and encapsulation.
  • Low-viscosity, flowable formulation for easy filling of cavities.
  • Non-corrosive to metallic electronic components.
  • Extended 60-minute working life.
  • Excellent environmental and chemical resistance after cure.
  • Excellent electrical insulation properties.
  • Designed for sensitive electronic assemblies and PCB applications.

Recommended Applications

  • Potting and encapsulation of electronic assemblies.
  • Component attachment to circuit boards.
  • Electrical housing assembly bonding.
  • Protection of corrosion-sensitive electrical components.
  • Industrial bonding applications requiring electrical insulation.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
