FREKOTE WOLO

Main features

  • Wipe Application Method
  • Mold Release and Sealing Capability
  • 15-Minute 20 deg C Cure

Product Description

LOCTITE® FREKOTE® WOLO is a clear, colorless, solvent-based polymeric mold release agent for fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyester-resin molding. Its wipe-on-leave-on application forms a thin, uniform coating without a separate polishing step. The moisture-sensitive material cures at room temperature and provides a high-gloss finish with multiple releases and minimal mold buildup. Because the formulation includes mold-sealing capability, fully cured molds can be prepared without a separate sealer by applying the documented coating sequence. Initial application requires at least four coats, with five minutes between coats and a 15-minute final cure at 20°C.

Key features

  • Wipe-on-leave-on application: Applied with a lint-free cloth and left on the mold surface to evaporate and cure.
  • High-gloss finish: Produces a high-gloss finish on FRP polyester parts without a separate polishing step.
  • Integrated mold-sealing capability: Can seal fully cured molds when the documented additional-coat procedure is followed.
  • Fast room-temperature cure: Requires five minutes between coats and a 15-minute final-coat cure at 20°C.
  • Multiple-release performance: Supports multiple releases with minimal mold buildup under the recommended application conditions.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Fiberglass-reinforced plastic molds
  • Polyester-resin molding processes
  • High-gloss FRP polyester parts
  • Fully cured molds requiring combined sealing and release treatment
  • Touch-up of complete molds or localized high-wear areas

Clear Liquid
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Thermal Properties
Temperature Resistance
Temperature resistance is the maximum temperature that the material or product can withstand for a period of time. The temperatures listed should be considered as guidelines for an operating temperature of about 30 minutes. Typically, the material can withstand much longer times at temperatures about 20°C lower and can withstand much higher temperatures for short, intermittent times.
