FREKOTE HMT

Main features

  • Hot-Mold Direct Application
  • Standalone or Touch-Up Release
  • Multiple Releases without Transfer Buildup

Product Description

LOCTITE® FREKOTE® HMT is a clear, solvent-based mold release agent formulated for application to hot mold surfaces from 60°C to 190°C. It can be used independently as a release system or as a touch-up coating over other compatible LOCTITE® FREKOTE® products. Applied by spraying or brushing, the liquid dries and cures rapidly at elevated mold temperatures. One light, uniform coat is used for touch-up, while four to six coats are recommended for initial standalone application. The treated mold surface can provide multiple releases per application without contaminating transfer or mold buildup.

Key features

  • Hot-mold application: Formulated for mold surfaces operating from 60°C to 190°C.
  • Rapid curing: Dries quickly and cures through solvent evaporation at elevated mold temperatures.
  • Multiple releases: Continues to provide multiple releases after application under the documented process conditions.
  • Flexible release-system use: Can be used independently or as a touch-up over other compatible LOCTITE® FREKOTE® products.
  • Clean release behavior: Documented as producing no contaminating transfer or mold buildup.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Touch-up of difficult-release areas on hot molds
  • Mold surfaces operating between 60°C and 190°C
  • Standalone hot-mold release-agent application
  • Touch-up over compatible LOCTITE® FREKOTE® release systems

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Thermal Properties
Temperature Resistance
Temperature resistance is the maximum temperature that the material or product can withstand for a period of time. The temperatures listed should be considered as guidelines for an operating temperature of about 30 minutes. Typically, the material can withstand much longer times at temperatures about 20°C lower and can withstand much higher temperatures for short, intermittent times.
