EPOXYLITE E810-1

Main features

  • Three-Component Placement Control
  • Rapid Three-to-Five-Minute Set
  • High-Temperature Metal Bonding

Product Description

EPOXYLITE E810-1 Hi Temp Epoxy Adhesive is a three-component heat-cured adhesive with a viscous liquid resin, powder hardener, and liquid accelerator. It is used as a high-temperature sealant and adhesive for metal-to-metal bonds. The resin, hardener, and accelerator mix at 100:125:11 by weight. Before accelerator addition, the resin-hardener blend has an approximately 45 minute working time; the full-accelerator mixture begins to set in 3 to 5 minutes for part placement before heat cure. Typical cured performance includes Shore D 90 hardness and 1,700 psi aluminum-to-aluminum lap shear.

Key features

  • Room-temperature placement set: The accelerator initiates a 3 to 5 minute set for positioning before final heat cure.
  • Controlled three-component system: Resin, powder hardener, and accelerator mix at 100:125:11 by weight.
  • High-temperature metal bonding: The adhesive is intended for metal-to-metal bonds with continuous-service use documented up to 200 deg C.

Applications

  • High-temperature sealant and adhesive applications
  • Metal-to-metal bonding

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
