DYMAX 9-7001

Main features

  • Thixotropic Pink Dispense Control
  • Wave-Solder and Reflow Protection
  • One-Piece Residue-Free Removal

Product Description

Dymax SpeedMask 9-7001 PCB Protective Maskant is a single-component pink peelable maskant for temporary PCB protection during solvent-based conformal coating, wave soldering, and reflow. Its thixotropic acrylated urethane gel supports controlled manual or automated dispensing and remains visible against common board surfaces. UV or visible light converts the applied material into a removable process barrier. The cured mask tolerates the intended assembly exposure, then peels away in one piece without residue when used within the prescribed process, including protection around gold- and copper-plated pins.

Key features

  • Pink Thixotropic Placement: High visual contrast and controlled flow support accurate dispensing.
  • Multi-Process PCB Protection: The cured barrier protects selected areas during conformal coating, wave soldering, and reflow.
  • One-Piece Clean Removal: The mask peels away after processing without residue under the stated process.

Applications / Suitable for

  • PCB masking during solvent-based conformal coating
  • PCB masking during wave soldering
  • PCB masking during reflow

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
40,000 mPa.s
Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
