Main features

  • Blue-to-Clear Cure Verification
  • Medium-Viscosity Application Control
  • Metal-to-Plastic Assembly Bonding

Product Description

Dymax 3225-T-SC Multi-Substrate Adhesive uses Dymax See-Cure color-change technology to provide a visible processing cue during UV- and visible-light cure. The medium-viscosity acrylated urethane adhesive changes from blue before cure to clear after exposure, supporting confirmation of the cured area. It bonds multiple substrate combinations used in plastics assembly and lamination, including metal-to-plastic joints within the supported application range. The cured material is characterized as a flexible multi-substrate adhesive rather than a rigid structural grade. Applications include appliance assembly, plastic laminations, and mixed-material assemblies where a visual cure indication can simplify inspection.

Key features

  • Blue-to-clear cure indication: See-Cure color change provides a visible cue from blue before cure to clear after exposure.
  • Medium-viscosity dispensing: The adhesive provides a controlled liquid profile for assembly application.
  • Multi-substrate assembly: Suitable for plastic laminations and metal-to-plastic bonding within the supported scope.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Plastics assembly and lamination
  • Metal-to-plastic bonding
  • Household appliance assembly

Refractive index
The refractive index determines how much the path of light is bent, or refracted, when entering a material. It is calculated by taking into account the velocity of light in vacuum compared to the velocity of light in the material. The refractive index calculation can be affected by the wavelength of light and the temperature of the material. Even though it is usually reported on standard wavelengths it is advised to check the TDS for the precise test parameters.

Thermal Properties
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
