  • Flexible Plastic Lamination
  • UV/Visible-Light Assembly Cure
  • Multi-Substrate Plastic Bonding

Product Description

Dymax 3069 Flexible Laminating and Plastic Bonding Adhesive is a UV- and visible-light-curable acrylated urethane adhesive for flexible lamination and plastic assembly. It bonds supported substrates including PVC, polycarbonate, polyurethane, PET, PETG, and ABS, allowing one material to address several common plastic combinations within a validated light-cure process. The adhesive supports flexible laminates, plastic housings, appliance assemblies, and speaker components. Its light-activated cure supports controlled production where the bond area can receive the required UV or visible-light exposure. This application range makes the product relevant for plastic assemblies that combine flexible layers with rigid molded parts.

Key features

  • UV/visible-light cure: Light activation supports controlled curing in accessible plastic joints.
  • Flexible lamination: Formulated for laminating flexible plastic layers and assemblies.
  • Documented plastic range: Bonds PVC, polycarbonate, polyurethane, PET, PETG, and ABS.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Flexible plastic lamination
  • Plastic housing and appliance assembly
  • Speaker component assembly

Refractive index
The refractive index determines how much the path of light is bent, or refracted, when entering a material. It is calculated by taking into account the velocity of light in vacuum compared to the velocity of light in the material. The refractive index calculation can be affected by the wavelength of light and the temperature of the material. Even though it is usually reported on standard wavelengths it is advised to check the TDS for the precise test parameters.

Thermal Properties
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
