DOWSIL Q3-3384-1

Main features

  • Visual 10:1 Mix Verification
  • Fast Room-Temperature Handling
  • Non-Self-Leveling Component Sealing

Product Description

DOWSIL Q3-3384-1 Base with SILASTIC Q3-3636 Special Black Catalyst is a two-component, room-temperature-curing thixotropic silicone adhesive system for durable component sealing. The off-white base and black catalyst provide visual confirmation of mixing at the required 10:1 ratio by weight. Its non-self-leveling paste consistency supports controlled placement, while typical snap time is 8 to 11 minutes and tack-free time is 15 to 20 minutes. After seven days at room temperature, the cured adhesive has Shore A 33 hardness, 1.6 MPa tensile strength, and 250% elongation. The system uses a neutral alkoxy cure and is intended for adhesive sealing of components.

Key features

  • Visual mix verification: Contrasting off-white base and black catalyst make incomplete mixing easier to identify.
  • Fast room-temperature handling: Typical 8 to 11 minute snap time and 15 to 20 minute tack-free time support rapid handling.
  • Thixotropic sealing paste: Non-self-leveling consistency supports controlled adhesive sealing of components.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Durable adhesive sealing of components

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
