Product Description

Band 0 HTML:

DOWSIL™ PR-2260 Prime Coat is a silane-based adhesion-promoting primer designed to enhance the bonding of RTV and heat-cure silicone materials to many metals, ceramics, and selected plastics. Supplied as a dilute solution of silane coupling agents and active ingredients dispersed in heptane, it is applied as a thin coating by wiping, dipping, or spraying before silicone application. The primer promotes improved adhesion while supporting greater design flexibility for electronics and industrial assemblies where reliable silicone bonding is required. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

Key features

  • Silane coupling technology: Enhances adhesion of RTV and heat-cure silicones to many metals, ceramics, and some plastics. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
  • Multiple application methods: Can be applied by wiping, dipping, or spraying as a thin, uniform primer coat. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
  • Electronics assembly compatible: Used for boards, assemblies, components, housings, battery packs, and other silicone bonding applications. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

Applications / Suitable for

  • Surface preparation before RTV silicone bonding
  • Heat-cure silicone bonding on metals, ceramics, and selected plastics

Technical Specifications

General Properties
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
0.75
Mechanical Properties
Adhesion Strength
Adhesion is the bond strength measurement of a coating to a substrate. When an adhesive is bonded to an item or surface, numerous physical, mechanical and chemical forces come into play, which may have an effect on each other.
