COOLTHERM EP-6010
Harmonization Code : 3910.00.00.90 | Silicones in Primary Forms; Others
Main features
- 55 cP Application Viscosity
- Low-Shrinkage Epoxy Curing Agent
- Two-Year Shelf Life at 25 deg C
Product Description
CoolTherm® EP-6010 Hardener is an amber liquid epoxy curing agent designed for use with various CoolTherm® and LORD® epoxy resins. When combined with an applicable resin, it creates a two-component system for electrical encapsulation and bonding applications. The hardener is formulated to support low shrinkage and reduced stress on components during cure while producing a rigid, resilient final system.
Key Features
- Low-stress curing: Exhibits low shrinkage and stress on components as the epoxy system cures.
- Rigid cured system: Produces a rigid system with documented resilience when used with an applicable epoxy resin.
- Low viscosity: Provides a typical viscosity of 55 cP at 25°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Two-component electrical encapsulation systems
- Two-component epoxy bonding systems

Technical Specifications
General Properties
Appearance
Amber Liquid
Appearance at room temperature.
Specific Gravity
0.92
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume.
For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
Physical Properties
Viscosity
55 mPa.s
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow.
Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as
the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP.
A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs-
compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than
water would.
The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in
order to better suit an application
