COOLTHERM 6250

Main features

  • 350 cP Low-Viscosity Curing Agent
  • High-Solids Adhesive/Encapsulation Curing Agent
  • Chemical-Resistant Cured Epoxy Systems

Product Description

Circalok™ 6250 Hardener is an amber, low-viscosity liquid curing agent intended for use with compatible Circalok epoxy resins. It supports high-solids formulations used in adhesive, electrical encapsulation, and laminate applications. With a typical viscosity of 350 cP at 25 °C and a specific gravity of 0.94, the hardener is formulated to maintain low mixed-system viscosity for component encapsulation. Final mix ratios, application instructions, cure schedules, and cured properties depend on the selected Circalok epoxy resin and must be taken from that resin’s applicable technical data sheet.

Key features

  • Low-viscosity curing agent: Provides a typical viscosity of 350 cP at 25 °C for use in compatible Circalok epoxy formulations.
  • Encapsulation-oriented processing: Maintains low viscosity to support component encapsulation when combined with the applicable epoxy resin.
  • Cured-system chemical resistance: Supports chemically resistant cured systems when used with a compatible Circalok epoxy resin and its specified processing conditions.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Electrical encapsulation formulations
  • Adhesive formulations using compatible Circalok epoxy resins
  • Laminate formulations using compatible Circalok epoxy resins

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
