CHEMLOK 6411

Main features

  • 30-Minute Room-Temperature Dry
  • 12.7 to 25.4 um Film
  • Brush, Roll, Dip or Spray

Product Description

Chemlok 6411 Adhesive is a one-part, solvent-based, heat-reactive covercoat adhesive for bonding supported rubber compounds to metal and other rigid substrates. For general use, it is applied over Chemlok 205 or 207 primer, although selected systems may use it as a one-coat adhesive. Chemlok 6411 can be applied by brush, roll coat, dip, or spray and is used at a dry film thickness of 12.7 to 25.4 um. The applied film typically dries in about 30 minutes at room temperature, with hot-air drying available at temperatures up to 90 deg C.

Key features

  • Primer-System Flexibility: normally used over Chemlok 205 or 207 primer, with selected one-coat applications also supported
  • Multi-Method Application: applies by brush, roll coat, dip, or spray
  • Room-Temperature Drying: applied film typically dries in approximately 30 minutes at room temperature

Applications

Bonding supported rubber compounds to metal and other rigid substrates, normally with the specified Chemlok primer system.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
200 - 600 mPa.s
Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
