BOSTIK LIQ1096MR

Main features

  • Fast-Tack Contact Adhesion
  • One-Part or Two-Part Configuration Flexibility
  • Rubber-Gasket Installation Use

Product Description

Bostik LIQ 1096MR Contact Adhesive is an amber, liquid, solvent-based general-purpose contact adhesive that develops fast tack. It is available for use as a one-part system or, with an approved curing agent, as a two-part system. The adhesive is used for rubber-gasket installation and for supported bonding of rubber, metal, rigid plastics, and laminate-to-wood assemblies, where rapid tack development and multi-substrate coverage support the assembly task.

Key features

  • One-Part or Two-Part Configuration: available as a one-part system or, with an approved curing agent, as a two-part system
  • Fast-Tack Contact Adhesion: amber liquid contact adhesive that develops fast tack
  • Rubber-Gasket Installation Use: used for rubber-gasket installation and supported bonding of rubber, metal, rigid plastics, and laminate-to-wood assemblies

Applications

Rubber-gasket installation and supported bonding of rubber, metal, rigid plastics, and laminate-to-wood assemblies.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application

Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
