Main features

  • Rinse-Free Immersion or Ultrasonic Cleaning
  • 62 deg C Flash Point
  • 0.5 mmHg Vapor Pressure

Product Description

BIOACT™ SC-22 Solvent Cleaner & Defluxer is a rinse-free solvent cleaner formulated from a proprietary mixture of modified alcohols. Designed for ambient or heated immersion cleaning, it removes uncured surface-mount adhesives and raw solder pastes from stencils and misprinted circuit assemblies. It also removes rosin, no-clean, and water-soluble flux residues from circuit assemblies and can be used as an alternative to isopropyl alcohol in supported cleaning processes.

Key features

  • Rinse-free cleaning: Supports solvent cleaning without a subsequent water-rinse stage.
  • Broad residue removal: Removes uncured SMD adhesives, raw solder pastes, and rosin, no-clean, and water-soluble flux residues.
  • Ambient or heated processing: Suitable for use from 70 to 125°F (20 to 49°C).
  • High flash point: Provides a flash point of 144°F (62°C), Pensky-Martens closed cup.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Ambient or heated immersion cleaning
  • Ultrasonic cleaning processes
  • Cleaning stencils and misprinted circuit assemblies
  • Removal of uncured SMD adhesives, raw solder pastes, and flux residues

Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
62 °C
General Properties
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
