ABLESTIK CE 3511PHV

Main features

  • Extended Dispensing Pot Life
  • No-Bleed Conductive Placement
  • Fast Hot-Plate Cure Option

Product Description

LOCTITE ABLESTIK CE 3511PHV is a one-part, silver-filled, electrically conductive epoxy adhesive for circuit assembly. The silver paste is designed for dispensing, has no bleed, and provides a pot life greater than 14 days at 18 to 25 deg C. Heat-cure options range from 60 minutes at 100 deg C to a hot-plate cure of 60 seconds or less at 180 to 190 deg C, although lower-temperature curing reduces electrical conductivity. After cure at 180 deg C, the typical volume resistivity is 5 x 10^-4 ohm cm. The cured adhesive has a typical glass transition temperature of 100 deg C and tensile lap shear strength of 12 N/mm^2.

Key features

  • Long dispensing window: A pot life greater than 14 days at 18 to 25 deg C supports extended dispensing operations.
  • No-bleed silver paste: The one-part paste is designed for dispensing and limits resin bleed during component placement.
  • Flexible heat-cure schedule: Multiple oven and hot-plate options balance cure time and temperature, with lower-temperature cure reducing conductivity.

Applications

Applications include circuit assembly, die attach, component bonding, and attachment of heat-sensitive components.

Component System
Describes the number of components that must be supplied, mixed, or activated before application or cure.
One
Pot Life
Pot life is the amount of time it takes for the viscosity of a material to double (or quadruple for lower viscosity materials) in room temperature after a material is mixed. It is closely related to work life but it is not application dependent, less precise and more of a general indication of how fast a system is going to cure.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
