3M DP8625NS

Main features

  • Flexible Dissimilar Material Bonding
  • Controlled Non Sag Dispensing
  • Extended Panel Assembly Window

Product Description

3M Scotch-Weld Flexible Acrylic Adhesive DP8625NS is a black, low-odor, non-flammable acrylic structural adhesive supplied in a 10:1 cartridge system for static-mixer dispensing. The non-sag paste holds its shape in vertical joints, panel seams, and gaps between steel, aluminum, composites, and selected plastics. A 21 minute open time provides a defined positioning window, and handling strength develops in approximately 28 minutes at 23 deg C. After seven days, the cured adhesive reaches 200% elongation and Shore D 35 hardness for flexible dissimilar-material assemblies.

Key features

  • Flexible Dissimilar Material Bonding: The cured acrylic supports compatible metal, composite, and plastic assemblies.
  • Non Sag Cartridge Dispensing: The 10:1 paste formulation controls placement through a static mixer.
  • Extended Assembly Window: A 21 minute open time supports positioning before parts are fixed.

Applications

Panel-to-frame bonding, thin-panel assembly, dissimilar-material joining, and controlled gap filling with compatible substrates.

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
118 %
Thermal Properties
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
27 °C
Thermal Conductivity
Thermal conductivity describes the ability of a material to conduct heat. It is required by power packages in order to dissipate heat and maintain stable electrical performance. Thermal conductivity units are [W/(m K)] in the SI system and [Btu/(hr ft °F)] in the Imperial system.
0.233 W/m.K
